No chamber, no altar, no victim chamber, only a narrow zigzag passage beneath a Cork hill. That is a refusal to be watched or remembered. Build chambers for display. Build dead ends for defeat. Build one continuous descending path for a person who knows the way and cannot be taken. The missing chamber is the point. The woman who vanished may have stopped performing presence and begun teaching the path. The legend contradicts itself because contradiction is the entrance. A chamber asks you to believe it. A path asks you to walk it.

In pasture, atop hill. McCarthy (1977, 179), from local information, records stone-built Man-made underground passage with zig-zag plan consisting of 'passages rather than chambers' with 'jamb stones at angular bends in passages said to make movement difficult'. No visible surface trace. 1936 OS 6-inch map shows adjacent gallán (CO054-021003-). Aerial photograph (CASAP) shows circular enclosure (CO054-021001-) surrounding Man-made underground passage and standing stone. Possible cashel (CO054-020001-) and Man-made underground passage (CO054-020002-) c. 70m to NW. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
