Six metres of compacted earth and forgotten purpose lie buried beneath the eastern bank of a Cork ringfort. Coleman measured the remains in 1947: a narrow trench, corbelled walls leaning inward, and a rounded chamber at the northern end. The passage may have stored grain, hidden people during storms, or served the quiet rituals that never reach modern memory. Whatever it held, the weight of centuries has pressed it back into darkness.

In SE quadrant of ringfort (8104). Coleman (1947, 71) noted that 'a trench 10ft long shows the remains of corbelled side walls and at the northern end, a semi-circular corbelled wall is seen. The trench varies between 2ftand 3ft wide'. Depression (L 6m; Wth 3.6m; D 1m; long axis N-S) still visible inside E bank. Ogham stone (7956) found within.
