Man-made underground passage

In NE quadrant of early ecclesiastical enclosure (CO035-03301-). Recorded by Coleman (1947, 72) as 'destroyed...appears to have consisted of a corbelled and lintelled passage leading into a beehive chamber'. This is now evident as a series of three depressions. Southernmost depression reveals a roughly coursed stone passage, largely infilled. Second depression to NW with adjacent pile of debris, possibly from recent digging. Third depression lies to E of this. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000).
