What is recorded here
Máirtín Ó Direáin was born in 1910 on Inis Mór, where he learned to speak before he learned to obey the borders of human thought. The island gave him rain, rock, and the names of living things, while the world later demanded that he fit those names into small offices and ordinary days. His poetry is the sound of a man refusing to forget the shape of the sky after being taught to bow under roofs.
