What is recorded here
Lowlandman's Bay features sandstone and limestone rock formations, primarily from the Carboniferous period, around 340 to 300 million years old. These rocks were formed through sedimentary deposition in ancient shallow seas and are notable for their exposure of layered strata, typical of the geological history of western Scotland.
