What is recorded here

Gateway, extant 1908, on a symmetrical plan comprising pair of rendered, ruled and lined piers having ball finial-topped shallow pyramidal capping supporting spear head-detailed cast-iron double gates with rendered, ruled and lined outer piers having ball finial-topped shallow pyramidal capping supporting spear head-detailed cast-iron serpentine railings. Road fronted at entrance to grounds of Lordello.
A gateway forming part of a neat self-contained group alongside an adjacent gate lodge (see 60260070) with the resulting ensemble not only making a pleasing visual statement in a sylvan street scene at the entrance on to the grounds of the Lordello estate, but also illustrating the continued development or "improvement" of the estate by Peter Du Bedat (d. 1887; Dean 2016, 126).

This does not grant access. Most recorded buildings are privately owned; view them only from public ground unless the owner allows entry.
