Llechwedd Diflas rises to approximately 550 metres and is part of the rugged terrain of the Brecon Beacons. Its name, meaning "False Slate Hill" in Welsh, may reflect local geological confusion or historical land use. The area is significant for its upland landscape and potential archaeological features common to the region.
