What is recorded here

In north Galway, a circular rath thirty-two metres wide held its line against centuries of storm and neglect before surrendering to the steady hunger of farmwork. The fort did not fall to invasion or fire; it disappeared beneath the ordinary pressure of living land, leaving only a ruined farmhouse and memory behind. What remained of its boundary was swallowed by fields, roads and time, until even the archive could find no shape to point at.

In gently rolling farmland. A very poorly preserved circular rath (D 32m) defined by a bank and external fosse best preserved at N.
