What is recorded here

Lissaniska is an oval earthen ringfort on a Galway hillside, still holding its shape after more than a thousand years. Its wide south-east causeway suggests animals moved through it, not heroes or traders in legend. The name itself points to a fort, and the ditch and bank make that literal rather than symbolic. It is the kind of place where ordinary life became visible in soil.
