Lissachullion

In pasture, on top of a ridge, adjacent to a farmyard on the NE side of a road. A slightly raised circular area (diam. 22m) enclosed by a substantial earthen bank (Wth 3m; int. H 0.6m; ext. H 1.3m) which is best preserved along the N and E arcs. The remnants of internal stone kerbing is evident and a number of eroded gaps were noted along the bank. An external fosse (Wth c. 2m) is evident as a shallow depression. The farmyard boundary abuts the bank at E and S where the bank is heavily overgrown. There is a possible Man-made underground passage (SL034-103002-) in the SW quadrant. A trigonometrical station is indicated on the 1914 OS 6-inch map on S edge of the rath.
