On a ridge in rolling pastureland. A well-preserved circular rath (diam. 31.4m) defined by a bank and external fosse; the latter is visible from WNW through E to S. Lisroe, Aggard Beg is a well-preserved early-medieval ringfort, likely dating to between the 5th and 10th centuries, situated on a ridge in rolling pastureland. It is associated with local folklore referring to "fairy forts," reflecting the belief that such sites were inhabited by supernatural beings.
