Lisnagat is a circular fairy fort atop a Cork hillock, its earthen bank and steep scarp enclosing a narrow entrance with a causeway. The shape suggests human hands, yet local tradition assigns it to fairy life, leaving the true builder hidden beneath grass and rain. A possible underground passage in the interior deepens the mystery, inviting wonder rather than certainty.

In pasture, atop hillock. Circular, raised area (29m N-S; 32m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 1m) N->SSE; by scarp (H 3.4m) elsewhere; with external fosse (D 0.6m) NE->SE. Entrance (Wth 4.3m) ENE, with causeway. Possible Man-made underground passage (CO102-00702-) in interior. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
