Enclosure in Ardgroom Outward

In rough pasture on cutaway bog, on the lower N-facing slopes of Tooreennamna Mountain. A circular area (int. diam. 20.5m) is defined by the remains of a stone wall. The wall (T 1.3m; H 0.8m) is best preserved SE-SW where it consists of an inner and outer row of upright contiguous slabs with an infill of rubble and earth. From SW-SE the wall is in a more eroded state with larger stones evident haphazardly along the perimeter. Some of the stones may have been removed for the nearby modern field boundaries. The W arc is bisected by one such N-S modern field boundary with only faint traces of the original enclosing element visible W of the field boundary. Two upright contiguous slabs may indicate one side of the entrance at SE. There is a hut site (CO102-039002-) in the N quadrant of the interior.
