Lisduff, Ballymacrogan East is a ringfort, a type of early-medieval rural homestead typically dating between the 5th and 10th centuries AD. Local folklore may associate such sites with fairy legends, as "Lisduff" suggests a "fairy fort," reflecting the common Irish belief that these mounds were inhabited by supernatural beings.
