Situated on top of a drumlin. This is an overgrown circular area (diam. 37m N-S) defined by a scarp (H 1m), and a slight external fosse or drain (Wth 1m; D 0.2m) at SE. The entrance (Wth 3-4m) at SW is probably modern. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J. Lisdrumgran is a ringfort situated on a drumlin, featuring a circular scarp and a possible fosse, typical of early-medieval Irish defensive or agricultural sites. Local folklore, common to many such forts, associates it with the fairies, though specific traditions are not recorded.
