No gate, no seam, no break in the wall. The fort is a complete circle of grass and soil, unmarked except where the earth has slipped open at the east. What enters there does not need a door.

On a slight rise on a NW-facing slope. A circular grass-covered area (int. diam. 45m E-W; 42m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 9-10m; int. H 1.2-1.7m; ext. H 1.7-1.8m generally to 2.65m at N) and an outer flat-bottomed fosse (Wth of base 4.6-5m; ext. D 0.1-0.2m). There is no visible entrance, but the bank is damaged and the fosse obscured by this spoil at ENE (L c. 14m). Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 15 April 2020

Lisconry, Cloghauninchy is a circular earthen ringfort, likely dating to the early medieval period, characterized by a substantial bank and ditch. Local tradition associates such sites with fairy dwellings, and they were often avoided due to beliefs in supernatural inhabitants.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
