Lisbeagh

In pasture, W of Blackwater River, on break in S-facing slope. Circular area (diam. c. 30m) enclosed by earthen bank (H 0.7m). Bank and interior heavily overgrown. Lisbeagh, Toom is a circular earthen ringfort, likely dating to the early medieval period, characterized by a bank approximately 0.7 meters high enclosing a 30-meter diameter interior. Local tradition associates such sites with fairy dwellings, and they were often avoided due to beliefs in supernatural inhabitants.
