Lennon's Bridge in Athy spreads its ends wide and finishes them with round stone posts, like an armchair straddling the canal. All it lacks is a newspaper and a firm belief that every passing boat is doing it wrong.
Canal road bridge, c. 1790, comprising single segmental arch. Constructed with coursed rubble with granite coping to parapet and splayed ends with cylindrical terminals. Towpath to either side.
