Detached country house, built c.1800, having five-bay two-storey central block with flanking single-storey five-bay bow-fronted blocks terminating in gable-fronted two-bay double-height blocks. Single-storey canted bay windows to side (east, west) elevations of main block. Hipped slate roof with rendered chimneystacks, concealed behind rendered parapet wall with cut stone architrave and cornice, having concealed rainwater goods. Flat roofs behind rendered parapet walls to wings with moulded architrave to base and render coping. Lined-and-ruled rendered walls with cut limestone sill course to first floor. Rendered plinth bands throughout with recessed panels to end facades. Camber-headed window openings with moulded limestone stone surrounds and sills to central block and end facades, having one-over-one pane timber sliding sash windows to central block, blind to gable-fronted terminating blocks. Continuous round-headed arcading over square-headed window openings with stone sills to bowed wings, having one-over-one pane timber sliding sash windows. Round-headed door opening within tooled limestone doorcase to central block, having chamfered surround and scalloped archivolt with Composite columns surmounted by carved architrave and cornice. Timber panelled door surmounted by single-pane fanlight opening to flight of cut limestone steps. Set within own grounds.

A grand, large scale house, which occupies a commanding site overlooking the Lee Valley. The fine round-headed doorcase provides the main block's decorative focus, while the flanking wings are unusual due to their bow fronted form. As is often the case, these wings are thought to be later additions. Built by the Colehurst family of Blarney Castle for their bachelor son, this house makes a valuable contribution to the architectural heritage of the Lee Valley.
