Leap Castle rose around 1250 AD for the O'Bannon clan, marking a borderland where ancient stone and bloody family rivalry collided. A priest was killed at his own altar during an O'Carroll succession fight, and decades later raiders drenched the rooms in petrol and burned the house during the Irish Civil War.
