Largie Castle, Burial Ground

Burial Ground (19th Century)

What is recorded here

Largie Castle, Burial Ground is a 19th Century burial ground beside Argyll and Bute. It still belongs to the castle, though the castle no longer claims much of the world. The dead may have been servants, tenants or relatives, and they are gone, but the ground remembers the shape of their lives. To walk past it is to admit that memory does not need a building to remain true.
Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Largie Castle, Burial Ground as Burial Ground (19th Century). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
