Laghta Soggarth

On top of a low hill, 603 SE of the Galway-Mount Bellew road. What survives is a low oval mound of earth and stone (N-S 6.3m, E-W 5.3m, H 0.85m). On its summit lies on inscribed slab, dated 1665, commemorating William Lynch and his son Thomas. There is a local tradition that this is the burial place of a priest. According to one version, he was killed near a large natural boulder, known locally as a mass rock, which lies 90m to NNE.
