Lady Well in Killeen, County Meath, appears in gothic script on both the 1836 and 1908 Ordnance Survey maps, marking it as sacred rather than merely functional. The well sits where a small north-south stream opens into a tear-shaped lake, a setting that feels less like chance and more like invitation. Perhaps women walked this valley at feast days, tying ribbons to nearby bushes or leaving coins in the water, their prayers joining the quiet movement of the stream. That much has faded, but the shape of the lake and the weight of the name suggest the place still remembers devotion.
