Kylebreedia Burial Ground stands on a raised hilltop in County Clare, where a holy well shares its walled enclosure with the dead and a coffin-resting stone still marks the place where prayers were said before the final descent. Recumbent stones from the nineteenth century lie flat across the centre while upright markers cluster along the edges, suggesting that fashion and means changed even as the community kept returning to the same ground. The density of vaults, steps, resting stone and sacred water within one small platform makes the site feel less like a cemetery and more like a living threshold between the village and the departed.
Kylebreedia Burial Ground is a cemetery in County Clare, Ireland.
