Knocknasop Fort is a fifty-metre earthen ring on a Galway rise, built between the sixth and twelfth centuries to hold a farmstead or local home. Centuries of grazing and rain have flattened most of its shape, leaving only a low bank that invites forgetting rather than awe. Yet the circle still resists erasure, marking the exact moment when unknown hands shaped raw earth into a boundary for daily life.
