Knappoge Castle, also known as Knopoge, was built in the 16th century by the MacNamara clan, who were prominent Gaelic lords in the Clare region. It is remembered as a significant example of a tower house and reflects the defensive architecture and social structure of early modern Ireland.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
