Rosroe Castle (in Ruins) — Report the wrong picture

What is recorded here

Rosroe Castle stands in ruins near Cragroe, a tower house reduced to stones and memory. It belongs to the long list of Clare strongholds where families lived, defended and disappeared. What remains is enough to imagine: a tall room, a narrow stair, a window opening onto the valley. The castle no longer commands the land, but the land still holds its shape.

Rosroe Castle was built in the 16th century by the O'Donovan family, a Gaelic Irish clan with historical presence in the region. It is remembered as an example of a late medieval tower house, reflecting the defensive and social structures of Gaelic Ireland before the English Plantation.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
