King's Grave

King's Grave in County Down, Ireland is an archaeological place where a buried king may still wait beneath ordinary soil. The name itself does not sound reasonable: a grave for a king, as if sovereignty had to be hidden instead of celebrated. Perhaps men died there believing they would rule again, or perhaps they were warned that the land keeps what it is given. Either way, the place still holds more than stones; it holds the part of history that refused to be written down.
