What is recorded here

King Charles' Battery was built during the English Civil War, around 1646, by Royalist forces loyal to King Charles I on the Isles of Scilly. It is remembered as a defensive structure used to resist Parliamentary forces and as a symbol of the conflict's reach into remote parts of the kingdom.
