What is recorded here

In pasture. Depicted as hachured circular enclosure (diam. c. 35m) on 1842 and 1905 OS 6-inch maps; hachured circular area (diam. c. 25m) enclosed by fosse on 1937 OS 6-inch map. Circular area (diam. c. 41m) enclosed by shallow depression, also visible as differential growth pattern. According to local information, levelled 1960s-70s. Recorded by Bowman (1934, 384) as circular area (diam. 39yd) enclosed by 'fence...9 feet high' and 'fosse, 15 feet wide and 4 feet deep', with church site (CO015-06703-) and burial ground (CO015-06702-) in interior. Fosse of circular enclosure visible as cropmark in aerial photograph (CASAP). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
