Excavated (98E0575) as part of Area 16 of the N25 Kilmacthomas re-alignment. A pit (dims. 5.4m N-S; 3.9m E-W) held a stone-lined and clay-bonded kiln bowl (Wth 1.5m) at the N end from which the stone-lined flue extended S (L 3.9m; max. H 0.45m) to a hearth with a stone base. It is situated c. 4m W of the iron-working hearths (WA015-106003-), and had been back-filled with deposits containing iron slag. (Tierney and Elliot, 2008, 106)
