In pasture, on N-facing slope. Circular area (28.1m N-S; 27.5m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (max. int. H 1.45m; ext. H 2.1m); inner face worn NW->NNE. Interior raised 1.75m on N side to compensate for hillslope. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Killeenagh Fort, Cashelfean is a circular earthen ringfort, likely dating to the early medieval period, characterized by a substantial bank and a raised interior on the northern side to counteract the slope. Local tradition may associate such forts with fairy dwellings, though specific folklore related to this site is not recorded.
