Killaghaun Burial Ground is a children's grave field on a Galway grassland rise, its rectangular edge marked by a scarp and its interior scattered with set stones aligned east to west. The small size of the graves suggests infants and young children, while the repeated east-west direction points to a community that kept laying its dead out the same way for generations. The land still holds that rhythm: a narrow band of loss, repeated until it became a shape the eye could read.
