Kileen Fort is a 34.5m oval ringfort on a gentle north-facing slope in County Limerick, marked by a scarped edge, outer earthen bank and a 2.6m wide fosse. Tradition claims it served as a burying place for children, though no graves remain visible beneath the dense overgrowth that now swallows most of the interior. The east bank holds a 2.5m break matched by a dip in the scarp, while a ruinous stone wall overlays the north-western arc.

In pasture, on gentle N-facing slope. Site is contained within small field immediately S of public road. Oval area (34.5m N-S) defined by scarped edge, outer earthen bank and intervening fosse (Wth 2.6m). Scarped edge (H 0.5m; Wth 3.3m), best preserved along S arc, lowers at N (H 0.2m). Outer bank (int. H 0.9m; ext. 0.6m) is overlain by ruinous stone wall NNW->NE; otherwise bank is masked by dense overgrowth. Break in bank (Wth 2.5m), matched by dip in scarp, at E. According to tradition 'this fort is said to have been used as a burying place for children' (OSNB vol. 1, 105). Local folklore, though not specifically recorded for this site, often associates such forts with fairy dwellings or ancient druidic activity in Irish tradition.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
