What is recorded here

Traditional pilgrim's path running ENE-WSW for c. 760m (max. Wth 16m) from St. Kevin’s Well (WI031-026----) towards Dunganstown church (WI031-035----) and castle (WI031-023----). Defined by an earthen bank (Wth 2-2.4m; avg. H 1.5m) on either side which both have drystone facings along substantial sections at the NE end. This may have been a mass path later adopted for the castle and house drive and subsequently for the modern road. The OS Letters (O'Flanagan 1928, 167) refer to this as 'Kevin's little road' and 'Kevin's lane'. Compiled by: Claire Breen Date of upload: 12 July 2013
