What is recorded here

Keel is a children's burial ground in County Cork, Ireland, marked on an 1842 map beside a farmhouse. Heavy overgrowth now hides the exact graves, forcing imagination to fill the silence. The land still belongs to memory even when markers disappear.
Marked 'Children's Burial Ground' on OS 6-inch map (1842). Beside farmhouse. Square area defined by heavy overgrowth bounded to N by vegetable garden and to W and E by cultivated hedge. No grave markers noted due to overgrowth. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 14 January 2009

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
