What is recorded here

Glencairn stands on Castlegate in Jedburgh, a nineteenth-century house built when the Borders were still drawing people upward rather than pushing them away. Its rooms may have held merchants, officers or dreamers, but no record names them. The house remains private, yet its walls still belong to the town, carrying the weight of every life that turned them into a home.
