Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Islay, Glenegedale as Cist (later Prehistoric), Inhumation (later Prehistoric), Unidentified Object (flint)(later Prehistoric). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 100m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

A cist burial from the later prehistoric period, likely dating to the Bronze Age; its significance lies in contributing to the understanding of burial practices and material culture in western Scotland.
