Inveraray Castle Estate, Carloonan, Mill stands as an 18th Century mill within Argyll and Bute, Scotland. It is unclear whether the estate owned the mill or the mill served the estate, but that uncertainty does not diminish the picture: a large household and a working mill belonged to the same local world. The castle may have displayed wealth while the mill made that wealth possible. Carloonan preserved the mill when the castle took most of the notice.
