Inscribed stone in Coumduff

KE044-019---- occupies an area of open ground in the centre of the village of Knockane, about three-quarters of a mile S of Lough Anscaul. Inscribed-slab (KE044-019005-): An inscribed stone fragment from the site was presented to UCC in 1939 but its present whereabouts is not known. One surface bore 4 letters or symbols but the rubbing published by O'Connell (1939b, 45) does not help to clarify what these represent. A loom-weight was found on the site at the same time.
