Inishbofin is a small island off the coast of County Galway, historically known for its monastic settlement dating back to the early Christian period. The island is notable for its well-preserved archaeological sites, including a 7th-century monastery founded by Saint Finian, and for being the location of the first weather station in Ireland, established in the 19th century.
