What is recorded here

Indicated is a small earthen ringfort in County Cork, Ireland, where a fifteen-foot bank still stands on the west and north while modern fencing erased the east and south. It sits on a sloping pasture facing southeast to northeast, large enough for a few people to walk inside yet small enough to hide within the horizon. The lost half may have been a home, a boundary marker, or a forgotten shrine, but the remaining curve still directs the eye across the land and refuses to disappear completely.

Shown as small univallate enclosure (diam. c. 20m) on 1842 OS 6-inch map; bank (H 1.3m) with shallow traces of fosse remains to W and N; to E and S, destroyed, replaced by modern field fence. Possible Man-made underground passage (CO053-076---) 4m inside N bank; depressions also to SW and S. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
