What is recorded here

Indicated is a phantom ringfort buried beneath Kerry pasture, visible only on old maps and memory. John Moynihan called the hidden stones cathairiní, suggesting human hands built them before the earth swallowed the work. The forgoen chamber may still exist under the grass, waiting for rain or rumour to reveal its shape.

In pasture, on the N-facing slopes of Knocknabro. Indicated as a roughly circular enclosure (diam. c. 25m), skirted by a road at E, on the 1894 and 1846 OS 6-inch maps. It is not visible at ground level. This is probably one of the 'cathairiní' on John Moynihan's land which was recorded by the Rev. W. Ferris in the 1940s (WFP).
