What is recorded here

Indicated is a crannog in County Galway, Ireland, a small artificial island built among reeds and shallow water. It may have served as a hidden home, a watch post or a seasonal refuge for people who knew the lake’s moods. The name gives no further shape, but the form is clear: a made island in a living landscape, still belonging to the place that covered it.
