Detached single-bay gable fronted partially submerged boathouse, built c.1860. Pitched replacement slate roof with clay ridge-tiles. Rubble-stone walls. Square-headed door opening to front elevation with wrought-iron gate and rubble stone stepped approach. Spaced battened timber boarding to rear elevation over entrance to lake. Rubble-stone pathway to interior of south-west side elevation.

A interesting boat house associated with Ross Castle. The building continues to house boats that the owners and guests would have used to take advantage of Ross Lake for fishing and leisure activities.
