Freestanding cast-iron letter box, erected c.1910. Pedestal base with manufacturers name to front (south-east) elevation, raised letters 'Post Office' with flanking moulded bands, moulded neck and fluted cap.
This cast-iron post box forms an attractive addition to the surrounding landscape. The post box was a vital part in the communication for the local rural community. This type of box is increasingly rare in Ireland.
