What is recorded here

In pasture on the crest of a broad ridge overlooking lower ground to the NE. An oval-shaped area (int. diams. 34m N–S; 30m E–W) is enclosed by partially overgrown round-topped inner and outer banks of earth and stone, separated by a wide intervening fosse. The inner bank (int. H 0.3m; ext. H over fosse 2-3m) varies considerably in width (Wth 6.5m at N - 12m at W) and is enclosed by a wide (Wth 3.5m) flat-bottomed fosse with a second, outer bank outside. The outer bank (int. H over base of fosse 1-1.4m; ext. H 0.5m – 2m at E) also varies considerably in width (Wth 2.5m at NNE-10m at E) and is poached by livestock along the W. Corresponding gaps in the inner (Wth 3m) and outer bank (Wth 5m) in the NE sector appear to be the original entrance. The generally level interior rises fairly steeply near the S and contains the very low remains of a later stone wall running NE–SW (L c. 10m) in the W sector.  The remains of later field boundary walls radiate off the monument at NE, S, SW and NW.
