What is recorded here

Indicated is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Rathbrenan, County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies the crest of a southwest-facing slope on a northwest-southeast ridge. A circular area roughly thirty-two metres east-west and thirty metres north-south contains an earthen bank two metres wide, with internal and external heights of zero-point-six and one-point-two metres. A northern enclosure or annexe measuring fifty metres east-west and twenty-four metres north-south attaches to the main circle through earthen banks one-point-two metres wide.

At the crest of the SW-facing slope of a NW-SE ridge. Described as a circular area (diam. c. 32m E-W; c. 30m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (Wth c. 2m; int. H c. 0.6m; ext. H c. 1.2m) with an enclosure or annexe (RO039-034002-) (dims c. 50m E-W; c. 24m N-S) or field attached to the N defined by earthen banks (Wth c. 1.2m) (Knox 1915, 297-8).
