Indicated is a fairy fort in County Mayo, Ireland, where a faint circular bank still marks a large enclosure on a south-facing slope. The shape appeared on an 1838 map, yet people may have called it a fairy fort because the land kept its own secret longer than human memory. It is the kind of place where ordinary pasture becomes a chamber for stories, and forgetting becomes the first act of imagination.

In pasture, on S-facing slope. Shown on OS map (1838) as circular enclosure (est. max. diam. c. 46m). Very slight traces of enclosing bank are visible. Possibly a ringfort.
