Shown on 1842 OS 6-inch map as settlement cluster named Monavarnoge. Five dwellings, (two occupied, the others in varying stages of decay) and several outhouses remain. The dwellings were all of 4 bays, 1-storey and thatched, with off-centre doorways and chimneys. Occupied dwellings have hipped roofs; others vary from gabled to half-hipped and one had one gable-end and one hipped end.
